Peter Beukema

Peter D. Beukema is the CEO and founder of 6PM Hospitality Partners, LLC, where his focus lies in the development and management of new hospitality venues and the revitalization of unique properties across the state. His current portfolio includes Tulyp, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel in Holland, the new Hampton Inn in Manistee, and the DoubleTree by Hilton in Battle Creek. Before launching 6PM Hospitality, Pete attended Northwood University for Hotel Restaurant Resort Management. He returned to Michigan and his family’s acclaimed hospitality company, Suburban Inns, to ascend from operations to CEO, successfully expanding the business and navigating beyond the pandemic. Beukema is deeply involved in his local community and hospitality industry, serving on the board of directors for the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association and the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority. In 2018, Peter was featured in Grand Rapids Business Journal “40 Under 40,” and three consecutive years on the Grand Rapids Top 200 Business Leaders list.

Peter has been married to wife, Michelle, for 17 years and they have 4 children (Easton, Carson, Campbell and Capri). His spare time is spent coaching or watching his kids’ Lacrosse games. Although the past few years have lacked extra time, he looks forward to getting back to some of his favorite hobbies including flying, boating, bird hunting, scuba diving, traveling and losing golf balls on the golf course. 


Tom Welling

Tom is a seasoned construction professional. With over two decades of experience, he has played a major leadership role in the construction of commercial and medical office space, ambulatory surgical centers, large industrial facilities, multiple condominium and residential developments and numerous hotel projects in 15 different states. In recent years he has focused on hospitality as a senior project manager, overseeing the construction or remodel of properties such as Courtyard Marriot, Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn Express, and DoubleTree by Hilton. Prior to starting his construction career, Tom served in the Navy as an electrician in the nuclear power program and subsequently as an officer in the Navy’s mine warfare arena. He also spent 10 years in automotive electronics and is listed as inventor or co-inventor on multiple patents.


Leigh Farrell

Leigh is a hospitality expert with excellent customer service skills and an authentic approach to building relationships. As Director of Hotel Operations, she leads with the competitive edge needed to grow the bottom line. Leigh works with our hotels to promote company core values and assists leadership on all employee relations. Throughout her thirteen years in the industry she has led teams to win awards in guest service, sustainability, and operations, including IHG Torchbearer, Hilton Circle of Excellence, Hilton’s Hospitality Hero, and MRLA Stars of the Industry Awards. Leigh holds a Bachelor’s in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Grand Valley State University (GVSU). When Leigh isn’t working you can find her traveling or at a Lake Michigan beach with her family.


Tara Bolhuis

Tara is the Director of Business Administration for 6PM Hospitality. She attended Grand Valley State University (GVSU) for Business Management and finance. Before joining 6PM, she worked at Huntington Bank in Wealth Management where she met 6PM CEO Peter Beukema, and joined his family business before helping start 6PM. Tara comes from a long line of entrepreneurs and has assisted startups for many years.

Her passion is Business Management, and loves organizing and preparing for new ventures. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her three children, traveling and experiencing life through their eyes, and always seeking warmer weather.


Maisie Vanderwal

Maisie is the Director of Finance for 6PM Hospitality Partners, LLC. She attended Grand Valley State University where she obtained her BBA with an accounting emphasis. She loves digging into the numbers and analytics, as well as collaborating and connecting with people. Maisie prides herself on telling a story through the numbers. She joined 6PM because of an interest in being involved in a growth-minded company. When she isn’t working you can find her outdoors with her family, at a concert, or both.
